I am a PhD student with a planned academic career in health research. I bought this product mostly to reduce eye strain due to reading on PDFs ~ 1,000 per year on electronic screens. The score I give to this product is based on three components:
1) EULA – Sony is very much surprised by the EULA, does not allow data collection and allows it to collect data from any device connected to Digital Paper, not just the Digital Paper itself. Digital items requires a PC connection to operate (only to upload documents to the DP), that is, it has enabled Sony to adopt unspecified data on my computer and has granted permission to use it without any real restrictions, including explicitly allowing it to share. my data with unspecified third parties.
