I must say, this is the BEST lens in my little arsenal, and the best budget Nikon lens for Nikon cameras. I have a Nikon D3100 (a fairly simple DSLR camera) with a kit lens (18 mm-55 mm). The kit lens is “OK”. He handles the job, but leaves a lot to be desired. Previously I had taken a Sigma 70mm-300mm zoom lens with Macro and it was a good lens.
However, this Nikon 35mm fixed lens has tossed the other 2 lenses out of the water in terms of quality, and the bokeh (blurry background) is very good. This lens is very clear and the camera that comes with my camera is taking amazing pictures over the lens. The 1.8 aperture does for this camera. For the price, especially if you’re on a budget, you can’t beat this lens at all. Also took video with this lens and looks like professional quality video. I’m also taking a bit of astro photo shoot with it, and if the conditions and settings are correct, you can catch the Milky Way.
