I only traveled in Uintas (Utah) with a two-day backpack, and the weather changes quite a bit from day to night. 35 degrees at night, 70 during the day, with strong winds in certain parts. I wore this as my base layer and although I needed an additional windbreaker for more heat and cutting winds, this wool kept me warm during the cold parts and when I started to sweat hard, my skin breathed. Part of my walk, it’s time to pour my outer layer and just wear those wool. However, given the exhausting nature of the climbing, after removing the outer layer (I had to wear it to cut the winds), I was completely sweating and still in the 50-60 degree weather again the base layer. I am very impressed with this product and will always wear it as a breathable but warm base. Multidirectional!
